Minimal Waste
I like throwing parties but I always feel bad about the waste created. Some people take cups and lose them 5 minutes later and go grab another cup. I went to the store and bought about 200 reusable plastic cups that were equal in size to the red drinking cups. I put out a trash bin, a bin for the plastic cups and a blue bin for the recycles right next to each other. I used fabric table cloths instead of disposable ones and paper plates instead of styrofoam. At the end of the night there was not even half a barrel of trash, probably 80 cups that avoided the trash and the recycle bin was overflowing. I made sure I bought more than enough cups because I am sure some might get thrown in the trash by mistake. It cost more money in the beginning but it will save me money in the long run not having to buy cups all the time. Most importantly its good for the environment. Those with big families and people who are always entertaining and throwing parties may want to consider this.
